The Lady Panthers drew Northern Michigan University this weekend in their final game of the Wisconsin RFU League Season. It presented an opportunity for both teams to do some building and gain experience.

UW-Milwaukee started their full second-side backline, and most of their second side forwards in this match, and everyone played a remarkable match. It was great for our newer players to get a feeling of A-side pressure and to play against a team like NMU that plays with such intensity.

Cassidy Boen (outside center) was the first to open the scoring for UW-Milwaukee with a try at 6:35. Meghan "Jr." Hausman playing in her secondary role as Loose Head Prop made the conversion attempt at 7:18.

Caila Ney who returned to flanker from scrumhalf added a try of her own at 9:55. Cassidy Boen added her second try from outside center at 13:55, which was followed up with a try from wing Maggie Garnica at 18:03.

Jessica Winkowski put in a try from inside center at 21:32 and Amber Faught (blind side flanker) added a try of her own at 24:01.

At 28:57, the Northern Michigan Fly-Half worked her way through the Panther defense to touch down in-goal for NMU's lone try on the day. NMU's conversion was right on the mark, and they had cut the Panther lead to 32-7.

Jessica Winkowski again crossed the goal line at 36:00. The conversion attempt by Meghan Hausman at 36:20 was good to give her 4 points on conversions for the day. Jessica Winkowski again touched down in-goal at 39:50 for her third try of the day and to close out UWM's scoring for the half. The Panthers went into the break leading 44-7.

At the half a few lineup changes were made and the Panthers put a few more players into secondary roles. These role changes included Tina Gill at No. 8, Lindsey Fickau at Fly-Half and Kati McCormick at Inside Center.

Wing Brianne Jones touched down for a try to open the second half scoring at 41:00. Brittany Biedenbender added a try from the other wing at 41:49, with Lindsey Fickau (Fly-half) following at 45:44. Tina Gill added a try at 51:39 from No. 8.

Brittany Biedenbender added another try at 54:34 to finish off a great backline series that started from Lindsey Fickau and saw great handling by centers Kati McCormick and Kendra Johnson. Kati McCormick added a try of her own from Inside Center at 59:08. Brianne Jones had a potential second try called back as held-up-in-goal at 59:51, but Kendra Johnson managed to finish the drive with a try from Outside Center at 60:57.

Scrum Half Kara Knox - who had a simply brilliant performance the entire match touched down for a try at 68:20 to close the Panther's scoring for the day. The match was called a bit short at 69:06 total running time, but it turned out to be a fine day of rugby for the UW-Milwaukee program and a great test for the newer players as they were able to refine their performance as the Panthers head to the Midwest Division II Playoffs.
