The village of Quejchip in the western highlands of Guatemala is outgrowing it's water supply. Recently they purchased two new springs to help fill there demand for fresh water. The problem now is getting this water down the mountain to the village. Another problem that the village is having is that the water in their existing distribution tanks is high in sulfates. EWB@UWM is currently working on the design of a water distribution system that will bring clean water to the village. The overflow from this new distribution tank will help to dilute the contaminated water increasing both the quality and quantity of the water to the village.
