About Us
What Is The Biology Club?
The Biology Club is a group of students interested in biology who have recently come together to network and form bonds with others interested in biology. Our goals are to provide a community for undergraduates and graduates alike on a very commuter-rich campus and to enable students to learn and be successful in their endeavors.
What Does The Biology Club Do?
- Meet bi-weekly : some activities at meetings have been a scavenger hunt around the building, and a presentation on job opportunities and undergrad research.
- Volunteer : activities include the Bogs & Bayous program at the Public Museum, the Downer Woods Clean-Up, the RAK-a-thon, and sponsoring a Blood Drive among others.
- Social Events : Ice Skating, Pantherfest, a Fall Masquerade, etc.
- Gather and Distribute Career Information : Job postings and career-focused speakers have been offered.
- Academia : Tutoring and Peer Advising, workshops on how to graduate in four years.
- Organize the annual Biological Sciences Research Symposium : This year's symposium was held on May 4th from 8-6pm.
Requirements::
- Attend 4 regular meetings per semester
- Volunteer or fundraise at least once per semester
- Pay $10 dues each semester
