Team 3 Chase Log

Monday, May 31, 1999

Building altocumulus to our north while in Wichita, KS.
Supercell west of Russel, KS exhibiting strong backshearing. We were about 60 miles northeast of the infamous Meade/Sitka storm, but at this time it was evolving into a severe MCS that produced almost continouous lightning discharges.

View of the supercell's main updraft and flanking line.
