Welcome to the UWM
Atmospheric Science Club Home Page. We hope this page serves as a useful source
of information for club members and visitors. Currently our club has around 20
active
members, who share enthusiasm for science and
weather phenomena. Our club's purpose is foremost to enhance the educational
experience of its members. Please find out more specifics about the purposes
and activities of our
club. Please view our

pictures of club members and events.
Besides providing a
social-academic environment, the club exists to promote and enhance the
Program in Atmospheric Sciences, which operates under the
UWM Mathematics Department. Our small atmospheric sciences
program offers the advantages of close interaction with its
faculty,
who are widely diversified and skilled in the field.
Most club members also
participate in the
Greater Milwaukee Area Chapter of the American Meteorological
Society (AMS). We recommend members also become involved with the
nationally organized AMS,
which offers many opportunities for students, such as travel grants to
conferences, awards, scholarships, and fellowships.

One activity that is a favorite among club members is our annual storm chase. Find out about our storm chase by clicking on the picture at left. We have some interesting pictures and stories to share with you from past chases and you can learn of our purpose for chasing. Our 2006 storm chase was very successful and the images will be posted soon.
