The Center for Volunteerism and Student Leadership in the UWM
Union has a search database available for current volunteer opportunities in
the Milwaukee area. There are many that would be of interest to premed
students. They also now have a portion of their website dedicated to
about a dozen health-care related volunteer opportunities that you can visit
here. |

| The
AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin (ARCW) has many volunteer opportunities
available, including the AIDSline, which will help students in the medical
field, as it is a phone line that answers questions about HIV/AIDS, STD's,
testing sites, etc. Also, volunteers are needed for the food pantry,
client and practical support, client activities, and Touch of Hope Family
Center volunteering. Help your community and gain some valuable
experience in the process. |

The Student Accessibility Center at UWM needs volunteers for
taped text reading for students who are blind/visually impaired or have a
learning disability. They need people to lend their time and voices
for approximately one hour per week or more if you want. The reading
labs are located in Mitchell B16. Everything will be provided, just
bring yourself and your voice. This is a great volunteer opportunity
that is conveniently located, educational and takes minimal time. |
