Question #1
(Posted 12/5/00): There has been much debate about the recent
presidential election with no swift resolution. Citizens in the
U.S. are greatly divided and are hoping for a fair and quick decision.
How would you resolve the issue over the debate of eliminating
the electoral college and focusing primarily on the popular vote?
Explain your solution to how to avoid the current problems in
Washington and what you would do to resolve such a close presidential
race.
Question #2 (Posted
12/6/00): A few months ago, a Russian submarine was stranded at
the bottom of the ocean with many men on board. The Russian government
delayed any efforts to rescue their men until it was too late
and refused help of other countries that were willing to aid in
the resue. As a result, about 60 sons, husbands, and fathers
perished at sea. Do you believe the Russian government acted
appropriately and how would you have handled the situation?
