SAE (officially known as the Society of Automotive and Aerospace Engineers) is the Engineering Society for Advancing Mobility of Land, Sea, Air, and Space. SAE consists of over 60,000 members, 20% of which are students of various engineering and scientific disciplines. There are over 230 student chapters at engineering schools and colleges in North America alone, with professional and students sections that can be found worldwide.
|
|
On a Professional level, SAE is concerned with the advancement of mobility and automotive technology, awareness of environmental issues, safety, and expertise that goes into the automotive industry, amongst many other issues. SAE also expands into the growing field of engineering through it's Student Chapters which offer hands-on experience, a chance to meet with professional engineers, and to compete in a variety of challenging design competitions. For much more information on SAE, see the official SAE International web site at www.sae.org. |
