You do not need to be a member to play chess. As we move to make the chess club more visible, better organized, and versatile, chess club members will play active roles in tournaments and events. We are currently organizing teams for this year's intercollegiate chess tournament in Providence, Rhode Island. Future planning will proactively involve members in activities other than chess as well, but our current membership is informal with the exception of chess club officers.

Anyone may play in a UWM tournament; however, a USCF (United States Chess Federation) membership is required for all USCF rated tournaments. You may purchase this membership from the Chess Club, or at the USCF website. Prices are subject to USCF regulations, and a subscription to Chess Life is included with each membership.
