Welcome to the Chess Club Home Page

The Chess Club is dedicated to promoting and playing recreational and competitive chess at all levels. We hold weekly meetings where chess players from the Milwaukee area get together and play. Anyone is welcome to play including non-students. We host many USCF tournaments, as well as non-rated weekly blitz tournaments. We will also be a second time competitor in this year's intercollegiate team tournament in Providence, Rhode Island.

Beginners are encouraged to come down and play. Chess lessons are our courteous way of promoting chess among new players. UWM has added a beginners Chess Course to the Fall 2001 semester. Now you can play chess in a formal environment, and get UWM credits! So when you see us sitting at the 2nd floor Union tables, stop by and play!
