Helen Bader School of Social Welfare

Located in Wisconsin’s largest city, the school provides an unmatched environment for students to study social work and criminal justice. Students at all levels choose from a range of opportunities to gain practical experience in social, health, educational, or criminal justice agencies.

We offer the following degree programs:

Criminal Justice

Social Work

Our graduates go on to positions in law enforcement, the courts, and corrections. They work in child welfare agencies, as trauma specialist and family counselors. They are professors, authors, beat cops and policy analysts and together, they are working to make a difference.

Nationwide, the demand for criminal justice majors and social work majors at all levels is high. In response, our school is growing. Scholarships are numerous. We continue to attract and retain distinguished faculty in both social work and criminal justice to teach and publish in child welfare, law enforcement, marriage and family, cultural diversity issues, crime, criminal justice policy, mental health, substance abuse and much more.
