Organic analysis of human settlements. Currently, he is working on several
major topics: the satellite city linkages to major cities, the theory of
"the power of the proposed project," and the theory of
"conscious intervention through urban design."

Professor Mangiamele's present urban design project is the actual
development of satellite city linkages to major cities. His "proposed
project" demonstrates Milwaukee s a potential satellite to Chicago
because of its relative size and distance to Chicago. He is demonstrating
the theory of "the power of the proposed project" by developing a
workable plan for a rapid rail system that will link the Chicago airport
(O'Hare), first all with Milwaukee's airport (Mitchell), and then with the
Loop in Chicago. the Loop is then to be linked to Downtown Milwaukee,
Downtown Milwaukee with Michell airport, which completes this satellite
circle.
Dr Mangiamele is also developing plans for Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee to
develop one of the largest continuous and finest semi-pedestrianized city
center streets in the world, in order to attract people from Chicago and
from the rest of the world. Both these projects are based on his theory of
"conscious urban design intervention" and the on the "power
of the proposed project", which underlie the urban design dynamics that
he advocates.
