Summer 2008: Vancouver - Sustainable Urban
Environments
Vancouver, a city at the forefront of urban, social, and environmental
planning, and consistently ranked among the top 3 cities in the world,
is the exciting destination for this two-part summer program focusing
on urban revitalization and development. Beginning in Milwaukee,
students will explore the evolution of our urban environmental crisis
and the emergence of a sustainable city approach. The group then
travels to Vancouver, where field visits are interspersed with lectures.
Field-based tours and lectures will take place at a number of public,
private, and nonprofit institutions where students will learn about the
range of policy, program and management initiatives being developed
and implemented in Vancouver.
