Community Ecology BioSci 458 Community Ecology is the investigation of the origin, maintenance, and consequences of species diversity within local communities. BioSci 475 Tropical Ecology is the study of the myriad of interactions that shape tropical ecosystems as we know them. In this course, we will travel to a variety of different tropical forests in the Republic of Panama to gain an appreciation for the general patterns and processes of tropical forests, and the mechanisms believed to be responsible for them.
