| The
Card Catalog |
This
is a rapidly growing body of work I started just two months
ago. It makes use of a large collection of 3x5 card catalog
cards my local library was throwing away. Out of the thousands
of cards, I look for book titles that inspire me, make me
laugh, or move me in some way. Then I make illustrations
and collages on the backs of the cards that show my reactions
to the titles. By only using titles of books I've never
read, my imagination can invent new books that are all my
own. The process allows me to make unconscious connections
between words and images and to see possibilities in that
which is unknown to me.
