Ceil's page on the New CPA Exam
If you are a dedicated student who can work well without the set structure of being in a classroom and you are wanting to incorporate a CPA review into your grad program, you may be interested in taking an online CPA review course that I talk about in class. This is not an official CPA Review offered by UWM--it is an optional 3 credit independent study course that you can sign up to take. I do this strictly to help my students and do not get compensated by the University or the Review courses for offering it. You can take either CPA Excel Guided Seminar or Gleim's Online CPA Review. I have discounts arranged for ALL UWM students with both companies (please see pricing and my thoughts about the reviews on the New CPA page referred to in the previous question). You do not need to take the Review for credit to get the discount.

site to see which one you are interested in. If you decide to
take CPA Excel, please call 1-888-884-5669 and ask for Gunn. You need to tell
her that you are my student and she will give you the discounted price.
BE SURE you sign up for the "GUIDED SEMINAR" and it doesn't matter to me
whether you sign up for the 15, 30 or 45 day version. For Gleim,
you can talk to any representative at 1-800-974-5346 and tell them you
are are UWM student to get the discount. (Make sure you are getting
the right item--Each section is regularly $149.95 and we have a UWM site
license which allows you to buy it for $74.98). If you are taking
CPA Excel I have a direct link to your performance report. If you are
taking Gleim, you will need to contact Charon Benton at charon@gleim.com

ext. 104 when you are done with the review. They will provide you with CPA
Exam Online User Manager report you can turn in to me which shows your
performance on each section of the review. The grading is based on these
reports and the grading scale is the same as in my Auditing
class.
How to sign up for Independent Study(3 Credit Hours):
To sign up to receive 3 credit hours at UWM for taking the review, you will
need to complete an independent study course form which you can obtain from
Graduate Student Services on the second floor in the SBA. The course
number is 799.
Under "Outline" fill in the following:
I am
taking an online CPA Review under Professor Ceil Pillsbury's supervision. The
review includes comprehensive coverage of Auditing and Systems material,
Business Law, Financial Reporting, Managerial Accounting and Taxation Topics.
Every week extensive outlines pertaining to the above topic are studied and
homework related to that material is completed. The course also includes
weekly written assessments which are graded and become the basis for the
overall course grade.
Under "Reasons" fill in the following:
This review will allow me to integrate all the material from my
previous accounting classes.
When you turn in the form, the Graduate Office will give you the permission code you need to sign up.
Go to here. Then click on "Forward Mail". Next enter your email account (not your student ID number) in ePanther ID and your password in password. Click on the "Change Forwarding". Enter the address you want your emails forwarded to and click "Apply Changes".
First, check your message. You probably incorrectly spelled the subject title. You will have to resend the message. You can not just forward the message because it will have FWD in the subject. You must make a new message with the correct subject and copy & paste the old message into the new message.
If you are not getting the messages, that probably means you're not on the
Listserv or the messages are being sent to an alternate email
address.

Purchase an excellent book Knock em' Dead by Martin Yates for about
$15. This will probably be the best $15 you ever spent!!! This book is
available at almost any bookstore.
