What This Page is About

Finding graduate schools that match your interests and applying for admission are two interrelated processes. Drawing on my experience working in graduate admissions at one particular school and from what I have read on various Usenet newsgroups, I have gathered in these pages some information to help people interested in graduate study to get started.

As much as possible, I have tried not to duplicate information, preferring instead to link you to existing resources. Many thanks are owed to the people (too numerous to list here) who have pointed me to good sources of information.

Disclaimers and Stuff

Information about professional schools (e.g. Dentistry, Law, Medicine) is beyond the scope if these pages. (The university that employs me does not offer such programs, so it is beyond my expertise as well.) As I find useful links to such pages, I will include them.

I hope you find the information useful, and that you'll let me know what information you found helpful or confusing. If you run across useful web sites that I haven't heard of, I hope you'll let me know about them, too.

You can also email me ask general questions. I can't promise that I will always have an answer, but I should be able to point you to the people who do. I can't promise an instantaneous response, but I will respond.
