  Help break the cycle of abuse! It is within the realm of nursing and humanity to be concerned for all sentient life. The discipline of nursing is wholly compatible with a view that values the myriad complexities of human existence, including the relationship of humans to the environment and all that lives therein. The fact that we can control and exploit our environments does not make it acceptable. As nurses we also are concerned with the allocation of scarce resources such as research funds.
