The FINAL EXAM will be a take-home, handed out Monday, December 8
and due in my office by 2 pm, Wednesday, December 17.
Special office hours for final exam time:
Friday 12-3 pm; Monday 2-4 pm; Tuesday 11 am - 12:30 pm
Wednesday the 17th I should be in from 10 am to 2 pm, minus an hour
or so around lunch time.

FIRST MIDTERM EXAM will be in class on Monday, October 20.
It will take the entire class period and will cover the parts of
chapters 1 - 3 we've gone over.
Please look here for a list of topics we've
covered in Chapters 1-3. The best way to prepare for the exam is
to go over the homework problems (all of them, not just the ones turned in)
and the review exercises at the end of each chapter.
Ground rules for this exam (these may change on future exams):
The test is closed book. You may use a calculator if you wish, but one
is not required.
