WUWM is co-sponsoring the River Valley Ride, a bike-a-thon fund-raiser for the Riveredge Nature Center. The ride will be Sunday, June 27, beginning at 8 a.m. (starts will be staggered). Choose from 8-, 16-, 30-, or 50-mile routes on quiet country roads, enjoying shady riverbanks and historical sites, as you help to support natural preservation.
Riveredge is a 350-acre sanctuary and science education center 30 miles north of Milwaukee. More than 13,000 schoolchildren use the facilities each year for educational purposes.
Cost: $30 for adults, $5 for kids (kids in tow are free). Registration includes a packet with a T-shirt, a map, description of historic sites, and parking instructions. All bikers must wear helmets.
