RETURN OF `FOR THE RECORD'

As many of you know, our primary reason for dropping the section was the amount of time it took to prepare. To address this problem, the following submission guidelines have been developed in cooperation with the University Committee:

• Electronic submission only, either by email document (NOT attachment) or Internet. The email address for UWM Report is report@uwm.edu. A "For the Record" submission form is posted on the Web at www.uwm.edu/news/report/ftr-form.HTML.
• Entries will be printed as submitted. If an entry requires diacritics, Greek letters, chemical symbols, or other special marks, a hard copy of the entry noting such marks should be faxed to Report at 229-6443 as a backup to the electronic submission.
• Enclose names to appear in boldface type (the submitter's and any co-presenters/co-authors who are UWM faculty/staff/graduate students) in < >. Also enclose all material to be italicized.
• Submit entries within six months of presentation/publication. Do not submit entries for future presentations/publications.
• Do not submit grant information to Report. The "Grants" section of "For the Record" is supplied by UW System via the Graduate School.

Submissions received during the 1999 summer break are not subject to these guidelines. They will appear in the Sept. 28 issue along with new submissions received by the Aug. 31 deadline.

Oct. 26 issue: Thursday, Sept. 30

Nov. 23 issue: Friday, Oct. 29

No December issue
