‘Second Skin' Exhibition Features Work by UWM Graduate Students

Holli Pitsch

MILWAUKEE—“Second Skin,” an exhibition of works in progress by a number of current students working toward their master of arts and master of fine arts degrees at the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee, runs Dec. 1-16 at the Institute of Visual Arts (Inova) galleries in the Arts Center, 2400 E. Kenwood Blvd. The opening reception is Friday, Dec. 8, from 5-7 p.m. and there is a gallery talk on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 4-6 p.m. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m.

“It is a chance to take some chances, try to resolve some ideas and see how things look in real space,” says Lane Hall, professor of art. “It encompasses a spirit of hybridity, of mixed media, of contingency. ‘Second Skin' is about shedding and renewal, moving on and through creative and programmatic pathways.”

All Inova galleries are open to the public and there is no admission charge.
