Fingerstyle Guitar Concert Nov. 15 Features World-Class Performers

MILWAUKEE — The University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts Department of Music welcomes Pat Donohue, Duck Baker and Eric Lugosch–three of the finest fingerstyle guitarists in the world–for an “Evening of Fingerstyle Guitar” on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Peck School of the Arts Recital Hall, 2400 E. Kenwood Blvd. Tickets are $16/$9 students and seniors, and are available from the Peck School of the Arts Box Office, (414) 229-4308. Proceeds benefit the Music Scholarship Fund.

The concert and workshop are part of the American Fingerstyle Festival, a three-day, multi-city gathering of the nation’s finest and most innovative fingerstyle guitar players, that begins in Chicago on Friday, Nov. 14. Scott Emmons, chair of the UWM Department of Music, is delighted to welcome Donohue, Baker and Lugosch at a time when “we are reinvigorating our guitar program. These three musicians are noted teachers and composers, as well as being among the top fingerstyle players in the world today.”

The Department of Music also hosts a Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop on Nov. 15 from 1-3:15 p.m. in the Peck School of the Arts Recital Hall. Participants will have an opportunity to work with each of the guitarists on fingerstyle technique, arranging and composition. The workshop is open to guitarists of all levels; guitars are optional. The cost of the workshop is $20. Tickets can be purchased in the lobby of the Recital Hall on the day of the event.
