UWM Student-Athletes Honored

84 Panthers named to League's Academic Honor Roll

MILWAUKEE - UWM placed 84 student-athletes on the 2001-02 Horizon League Academic Honor Roll, the league office has announced.

Candidates for the Academic Honor Roll needed to fit meet three criteria in order to qualify: 1) participate in at least one of the League's 18 sports; 2) must have completed three semesters (four quarters on the quarter system) as a full-time student at the same member institution; and 3) must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 as of April 1.

17 members of the women's swimming and diving team led the way for the Panthers. The honorees also included 13 members of the women's soccer team, nine members of the women's track and field team, seven members of the women's basketball team, six members of the women's cross country team, five members each of the men's cross country and men's track and field teams, four members of the men's soccer team, three members each of the baseball, men's basketball and men's swimming teams and two members of the women's tennis team.

A total of 518 Horizon League student-athletes were named to the 2001-02 Academic Honor Roll. A full list of UWM's honorees is below.
