UWM Conference Looks at the Changing Work Force

MILWAUKEE - A variety of experts will discuss the changing needs of an increasingly diverse work force at a May 2 conference at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The conference, "Planning Responsibly for a Diverse Workforce," is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at UWM University Outreach, 161 W. Wisconsin Ave. Keynote speaker is Darnell Cole, president of Milwaukee Area Technical College. Conference speakers and panelists will look not only at the concept of diversity, but also at practical responses to the challenges facing organizations that are trying to make diversity endure and thrive.

The event's co-sponsors are the UWM School of Education Department of Administrative Leadership, Education Outreach and the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).

The conference is being organized by a UWM class, "Practicum in Program Planning and Implementation."

Cost of the conference is $70 if registered before Friday, April 26 and $75 after that date. Call 229-4728 for more information.
