Limited to an edition of 387 numbered copies, this publication reproduces in facsimile three sets of colored versions of Blake's illustrations for Job. According to almost all recent scholars, these versions post-date the engravings of 1823-6 and can with some certainty be connected with the household of John Linnell, who commissioned the Job engravings. The facsimile plates were printed by Collotype and hand colored using the pochoir method at the Trianon Press, Paris, under the supervision of Arnold Fawcus. The examples displayed here are from the so-called Collins Set, a complete set of engravings with the coloring ascribed to Linnell himself.
