- The Bulletin of the Proceedings of the Wisconsin Legislature is the official index to the bills introduced each session. Published regularly throughout the legislative session, each issue is cumulative. The library keeps the most current cumulation in the reference collection, near the Wisconsin legal materials (KFW). The final cumulative editions for prior legislative sessions are located in the general stacks with the call number J 87 .W612x. Laws, as passed 
- The Acts (also entitled Chapters) are the bills after passage which have become law. The library keeps the current acts in the reference collection near the Wisconsin legal materials (KFW) until the bound cumulation arrives. Acts are kept in numerical sequence (the first one passed is #1, second one is #2, and so on). Subject indexing for the laws is found in the Bulletin of the Proceedings (above).
- Wisconsin Session Laws are the bound cumulation of acts, KFW 2425 .W5x (editions prior to 1911 are entitled Laws of Wisconsin). This is a biennial cumulation which is published AFTER the end of a full two-year legislative session. Current acts may also be located at links provided at

Laws, in force
- Wisconsin Statutes is the compilation of the laws as they are in force. The Statutes are divided into over 400 subject chapters, using numbers 1-999. The Statutes has a subject index at the end of the last volume. The most recent biennial Statutes volumes are in the reference collection, (REF) KFW 2430 .A2 W5x, with earlier editions in the general stacks. - West's Wisconsin Statutes Annotated is a compilation of the laws in force, with added legal annotations. The volumes are updated with annual pocket parts and occasional revised volumes, and supplemented by West's Wisconsin legislative service. Regulations, in force
- Wisconsin Administrative Code is a regularly updated looseleaf of the regulations which enforce the state's laws. The Code, (REF) KFW 2435 .A2, is arranged alphabetical by the department/agency which issues the regulations. Use the index to locate the subject of interest. Attorney General
- Opinions of the Attorney General of the State of Wisconsin are published in biennial cumulative editions. These are located in the general stacks, KFW 2840 .5 .A85x. Opinions from 1983 are available online at: http://www.legis.state.wi.us/rsb/index.html.

- Decisions of the state Supreme Court are published in the Callaghan's Official Wisconsin Reports. The current decisions are published bimonthly and cumulated into bound volumes.
