- This site, accessed via U.S. Bureau of Census, provides easy access to the
1990 and 2000 Census of Population & Housing. Also available on this site
is the 1997 Economic Census, The Decennial Census, and the American Community
Survey. Data can be found by race, age, sex, occupation, and by town, city, county,
and state levels. It also allows the creation of reference and thematic maps.

- The Federal Bureau of Investigation offers statistics within the United States.
Statistics can be located under "Uniform Crime Reports" via Library
and Reference. Data includes overall crime rate percentage for the U.S., number
of offenses reported, percentage rate of violent crimes, murder and manslaughter,
robbery, rape, aggravated assaults, larceny, property crimes, hate crimes, etc.

- FedStats
- This site provides easy access to the full range of statistics and information
produced for public use by more than 70 agencies in the United States Federal
Government.
- Integrated Public Microdata Series
- Historical census database which includes individual-level samples from the
U.S. Census from 1850 to 1990. These files can be used to analyze long-term social
and economic changes.
- Internal Revenue Service
- This site offers data on taxes collected from tax returns filed in the United
States. Tax statistics include corporations, employment tax, estates/wealth/gifts,
individual, excise, international, and income. Data are viewed as pdf or spreadsheet
formats.
- National Election Studies
- The National Election Studies is provided by the University of Michigan. Statistical

United States
- This online version of the annual compendium of government and non-government
statistics provides information primarily on the national and state levels. Includes
population and vital statistics, health, economics, education, manufacturing,

Foundation: State Health Facts Online
- The Kaiser Family foundation offers comprehensive and current health information
for all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. Territories. Data includes
topics such as managed care, health insurance coverage and the uninsured, Medicaid,
Medicare, women's health, minority health and HIV/AIDS. The site allows users

as far back as 1970 up to 2015 at the town, city, and county levels, and also

- The Center for International Earth Science Information Network is a government-sponsored
research organization dedicated to disseminating information on global environmental

- Eurostat
- Online indicators for economy and finance, population and society, energy

- InfoNation

for the Member States of the United Nations. Select up to seven countries, then

- International Data
Base
- Demographic and socio-economic statistics for most countries of the world.
Data include population by age and sex, vital rates, infant mortality, life tables,
fertility and child survivorship, migration, marital status, family planning,
ethnicity, religion, language, literacy, labor force, employment, income and households.
Combines data from country sources with projections to provide information dating

- International Trade Administration
- The International Trade Administration provides data on international trade
between the United States and other countries. Data includes trade statistics

- Bureau of Economic Analysis
- Summary data on national income, U.S. personal income, product accounts (GDP)
and balance of payments (trade). Most data available in ASCII format, articles

- This source covers number of business establishments, employees and other
data at the county level. Access individual states in Adobe Acrobat format. Alternate

- Economic Censuses
- Censuses of agriculture, construction, manufactures, mineral industries, retail

of the President and Federal Budget Publications
- The Budget of the United States Government and supporting publications as

of International Economic Statistics
- Economic profiles, GDP, foreign trade, energy use, environment, agricultural
and manufacturing data for over 100 countries. Some data on life expectancy and
literacy. Some data from 1970, with annual figures since 1990.
- Nyenrode Business Information Services
- Links to economic data, statistical data, and trends per country.
- OECD Economic Outlook
- Semiannual publication of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development
which provides a survey of economic trends, policies, and projections for each
of its 25 member countries ( primarily industrialized western nations), along
with selected Eastern European, Asian, and Latin American countries. Summaries
of frequently requested data are available as Adobe Acrobat or HTM files.
- STAT-USA
- The online resource STAT-USA includes such sources as the U.S. Global Trade
Outlook, U.S. Industrial Outlook (industry-by-industry narrative and statistical
trend analysis), and many other statistical databases. The Economic Bulletin Board
includes thousands of current and time series tables on national income, trade,
prices, treasury notes, and employment. GLOBUS, National Trade Data Bank and Trade
Opportunities Program Bulletin analyze the business climate in foreign countries.

- National Center for Education Statistics

- Full text of the Digest of Education Statistics and Condition of Education,
national data on schools, enrollment, outcomes for all levels of education, library,

Environment
- CIESIN Gateway
- The Center for International Earth Science Information Network is a government-sponsored

change and demographics. International databases include the World Health Organization's

their free gateway software to fully utilize the databases.
- IUCN Red List of Threatened Species
- The World Conservation Union gathers information on species around the world.
Data provided on each species as a whole include extinction status, extinction
in the wild, critically endangered, vulnerable, and risk percentage of becoming
extinct or severely threatened. Data is searchable by country, world regions,
and marine regions.
- U.S. Geological Survey National Mapping
Information
- The online databases include Geographic Names Information (GNIS), Global Land
Information (GLIS), National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) Clearinghouse,
and US GeoData. US GeoData provides access to data files for use in geographical
information systems through an FTP server.

- American Heart Association
- The American Heart Association publishes statistics in three categories: population,
risk factors, and miscellaneous. Data includes cardiovascular disease by age,
sex, and race. Risk factor data includes smoking, high blood pressure, weight,
diabetes, etc. Miscellaneous data sets include cause of death, hospital discharges,
and procedures.
- American Lung Association
- The American Lung Association provides statistics on air quality trends, asthma,
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung disease, smoking, and tuberculosis.
The data files are in pdf format and can be viewed via Acrobat Reader.
- America's Children
Monitoring Report
- This site provides easy access to state and federal statistics on children
and their families. Data includes population and family characteristics, economic
security, health, behavior and social environment, and education. Data can be

- Canadian Institute for Health Information
- Under "Facts and Figures", data includes lists of health professionals,
health expenditures, health services and general health indicators by Province.
- CDC Wonder
- Access CDC reports and numeric public health data. Select "Searches and
Queries" to perform data set queries. "Other Information Resources"
on Health sorted by access protocol (e.g. FTP).
- Center for Disease Control and Prevention
- The Center for Disease Control and Prevention provides statistics on AIDS,
fatal accidents, leading causes of death, cancer, STD's, mortality and natality,
etc. Data can be found by clicking on the "Data & Statistics" link
via the homepage. Each data set has its own interface in which specific search
limits, i.e. state, type of death, can be chosen to retrieve reports.
- Medicare and Medicaid Statistical
Supplement
- Statistical highlights and information about persons covered by Medicare and
Medicaid, provider institutions and agencies, health care spending, and administrative/operating
costs. Health Care Indicators contain data and analysis of recent trends in Health
Care spending, employment and prices.
- Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report
- Short periodical providing text reports and hard statistics on fatal diseases

- National Cancer Data Base
- Provided by the American College of Surgeons, this database provides information
on cancer by type, patient care, treatment by stage, and survival rates. Also

- National Cancer Institute
- Provides statistics by cancer type, death rates, racial/ethnic patterns, and
probability patterns of developing or dying from cancer. Also provided on this
site is information on research programs, research funding, types of cancer, and
clinical trials.
- National Center for Health Statistics
- News releases on natality, marriage, divorce, mortality, and selected subjects
include downloadable Adobe Acrobat files. Go to "Surveys and Data Collection

- National Center for HIV/AIDS
Prevention
- Published via the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, this site offers
fact sheets and general information, statistics, and trends on HIV/AIDS. Fact
sheet information includes causes, virus information, transmission, treatment,
etc. Statistics include cases, mode of exposure, sex, race, trends, and risk factors
by state, metropolitan area, etc.
- United Network of Organ Sharing
- UNOS provides data on waiting lists, transplant and donor data for the U.S.,
a UNOS region, state, or individual transplant hospital. Summaries and reports
can be customized for a specific characteristic such as gender. Information can
be searched by organ type and get descriptions of the organ and their function,
diagnoses, and transplant procedures.

and finance. Data includes scheduled service, overall service, and operating financea,

- Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS)
- Data, text and informational materials on transportation safety. Topics range

- Highway Statistics
(Federal Highway Administration)
- Provides annual reports containing data on motor fuel, motor vehicles, driver
licensing, highway-user taxation; State and local government highway finance,
highway mileage, and federal aid for highways. Data is published in table or chart
format, every ten years since 1945. Online data is only available from 1992-present.
- Statistical Handbook
of Aviation (Federal Aviation Administration)
- Provides data from 1996 on Federal Aviation and Airspace. Data includes budget,
civilian employees, number of aircraft, facilities and services, air traffic,
airports, heliports, seaplane bases, air carriers, revenues, number of flights,
and much more. Files can be downloaded in pdf format using Acrobat Reader.
- Transportation and
Warehousing (U.S. Census Bureau)
- This site provides data from the Service Annual Survey of companies that provide
commercial motor freight transportation and public warehousing services. Data
includes operating revenue, operating revenue by source, percent of motor carrier
freight revenue, weight of shipments, length of haul, and country of origin and
destination.

U.S. International Air Passenger and Freight Statistics
- Provides data on the Aviation Industry. Track changes in international passenger
and freight traffic. Data includes number of passengers between two airports,
seats, departures, and freight. Aviation briefs provide information on the Department's
Open Skies Policy and carrier alliances. Read speeches and statements from the
Department of Transportation about current international aviation issues. Reports
