National History Day Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Archives

WTMJ-TV Employee

Welcome to the UWM Archives' National History Day 2005 Resource Site. Within this site you will find Milwaukee related topic ideas and examples of primary resource materials to help get you started on your National History Day project.

The collections in the UWM Archives offer many directions in which to explore the theme, Communication: The Key to Understanding History. There are the collections of people who used protest to communicate their dissatisfaction with a political situation or to bring light to injustice; collections that trace the history of mass communication and television in Milwaukee, and collections of artists who used creativity to communicate ideas about their world.

Go to our Topic Ideas page and explore the possibilities. When you find something that captures your interest, plan a trip to the Archives where you can follow that interest in depth, with the real documents and collections at your fingertips.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Archives is open to the public. Archivists will happily assist you in finding materials. Just link to the Archives' home page for information on hours and location. We hope to see you in the Archives soon!
