ABSTRACT: This record group consists mainly of correspondence and subject files relating to the council and annual meetings.  The bulk of the records dates from the 1970s. 

ACCESS RESTRICTIONS: There are no access restrictions on the materials, and the collection is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law. However, the researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel, privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin Statutes 19.21-19.39). SAA retains its copyright in this collection.

ARRANGEMENT: This record group is arranged into subgroups corresponding to the terms of SAA vice presidents/president elects and thereafter by record series. Since 1957, the vice president has served as president elect. In order to better reflect the continuity between an individual's service as president elect and president, the SAA Archivist decided to arrange the records of presidents elect with their presidential papers. Accordingly, this record group was discontinued following SAA's donation of its archives to UWM in April 2001.
