ABSTRACT: This record group contains the presidents' correspondence with other SAA officers and the American Archivist editorial offices. It also includes files relating to annual meetings, council, committees, sections, task forces, and joint meetings with other organizations.

ACCESS RESTRICTIONS: Unless indicated otherwise, there are no access restrictions on the materials, and the collection is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law. ARRANGEMENT: This record group is arranged into subgroups corresponding to the terms of SAA presidents and thereafter by record series. Subgroups are numbered in the order in which they are processed, not according to the sequence of presidential terms.

Since 1957, the vice president has served as president elect. Most record subgroups accordingly include files from an individual's service in both roles.
