Ozaukee Micro Series 1
State census shows names of heads of families, number, race and sex of family members, number of "deaf & dumb, blind and insane" in family, and number of foreign born in family. The schedules are arranged by town. The names on the schedules are apparently in the order in which the enumerator visited the household except for those in Cedarburg which are in alphabetical order. The schedules for Belgium and Port Washington include the name of the spouse of the head of the family. Census also includes a report of the money raised by taxation and private subscription for payment of bounties to Civil War volunteers.

Washington Series 17
Indexes to each volume of Deeds (Washington Series 16). When the deeds were microfilmed, the index to each volume was removed from the volume, then grouped with other volumes' indices in order to create the Grantor index. For example, reel 1 of the Grantor index contains, in sequence, the indices from volumes B through T (to the letter A) of deeds. Unfortunately, the fragmented nature of the grantor index remains: the volume indices have not been combined into a master index by which a deed can be found in a single step according to the last name of its grantor. In addition, there is no index to the names of the grantees.

Milwaukee Series 46
Collection contains legal files of civil and criminal cases appealed from the Milwaukee County Circuit Court to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. After deciding the case, the Supreme Court returned the case files to the court of origin, the Circuit Court. The files contain materials used in the Circuit Court trials; including affidavits, appeals, complaints, orders, transcripts of hearings and trials, and other documents. Only a few files include a copy of the Supreme Court's decision, and some include evidence presented at the trials. The collection is arranged by case number, but the finding aid provides access by the name of defendant, plantiff, and case number. Finding aid available in the Archives.

Judgment and order books, 1842-1940.
Milwaukee Series 45
Collection contains an incomplete set of the court's final judgment and order books for civil law (1842-1940) and equity law (1847-1864); and court records, sometimes called docket books (1893-1936). A number of the volumes are lost, and there is no index to the volumes. To search through them, the patron must know a case number, or know when the case was filed. The judgment and order books provide the name of the defendant and plaintiff, a summary of the case, and the final decision of the judge. The volumes from 1842-1907 are arranged by case number; the volumes from 1907-1940 are arranged by original date of filing. The equity cases are arranged in rough chronological order, and provide the name of the defendant and plaintiff, a brief synopsis of the summonses, and the final judgment of the judge. The docket books are arranged by docket number, and provides the name of the defendant and plaintiff, nature of the action, dates of proceedings, and volume and page numbers in the minute books and judgment and order books. The series consists of four groups of bound records: wills, a record of claims, final judgements; and the tax on legacies. The three volumes of wills (1860-1871, 1889-1899, 1899-1902) contain a summary of proceedings, including a copy of the last will and testament; executor's bond; orders for appraisal and disposal of property, appointment of executor, and limiting time for creditors to make claims; and various affidavits and petitions. The record of claims (1882-1915) provides the name of person being claimed against, date and amount of claim, and the person making the claim; an index is at the front of the volume and on pp. 400-413. The series also contains a volume of final judgements of probate (1899-1928) arranged by date. A volume recording taxes on legacies (1903-1906) is arranged by date the petition was filed, and provides place and date of death, estimated value of property, date and amount of the inventory of property; heirs at large, legatees, and devisees. Milwaukee Series 47
Series contains a sampling of the criminal case files of the Municipal Court for Milwaukee County. The cases involve charges of larceny, rape, forgery, adultery, burglary, murder, sodomy and abandonment of children. The type of records contained in the collection are transcript of the court proceedings, subpoenas, application for pardons, waiver of trial by jury, order of court suspending sentence, receipts of transfer of the convicted person to prison, capias, judgement rolls and affidavits.The collection represents a 3% sampling of the total cases that were conducted during this period and have been retained for evidential value. The materials are in their original folders and are generally arranged in case file number.Finding aid available in the Archives.
