The Libraries new AGSL Digital Photo Archive is now available. The 2500-image collection has already been featured in The Scout Report (February 29 issue), a site that evaluates and recommends web resources for research.
Drawn from the photographic holdings of the American Geographical Society Library, the photo achive currently focuses on Asia and the Middle East, but images are continously added. This is only the beginning of the process of providing online access to the nearly half-million photo images owned by the AGS Library.
The AGS Library and UWM Libraries are grateful for continuing financial support for the Digital Photo Archive project from Suzanne and Dr. Robert McColl.
Staff and students who worked on the project include Krystyna Matusiak, Digital Collections Librarian; Susan Peschel, AGS Library Visual Resources Librarian; Eleanore Bednarek, Marilyn Antkowiak, Tim Blomquist, and Shauna Borger.
