Accessing Full Text Materials for Music
Research:
Prepared for Music Library Association, Midwest Chapter Fall 2004 Meeting,
St. Louis, MO Friday 8 October 2004
Presented by Rebecca J. Littman, Head University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee Music Library. rlittman@uwm.edu
The purpose of presenting this information in this format is to encourage
the exploration of non music-specific resources to locate
music-related materials in resources that might not seem obviously
useful.
The databases used for this presentation, or cited below if not
demonstrated, are limited to those currently subscribed to by the
Libraries of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Your library may
provide access to a similar resource if not the ones listed here. Some
of the databases are available through multiple vendors. Your
library may offer a database that UWM subscribes to from Proquest
through OCLC FirstSearch, Wilson, or some other subscription service.
The UWM Libraries Databases
A-to-Z page provides access to all UWM users through a proxy
server and includes a Guide to Searching for most of them.
