COMPARATIVE LITERATURE


Academic Program
 

Undergraduate major and minor, M.A. in Foreign Language and Literature. A coordinated degree program leading to a simultaneous MAFLL/MLIS, in cooperation with the School of Information Studies, is available.

Emphasis is on Western literatures from the time of Greek drama to the present; international literary crosscurrents; literary movements and concepts; comparative literary criticism; literary research; genre studies; film-fiction interactions; translation theory, and comparative mythology; as well as interdisciplinary studies involving literature and anthropology, philosophy, political science, sociology and mathematics.
