Sanborn Maps show detailed drawings of town or city blocks with buildings color coded according to type (brick, wood, etc).

The American Geographical Society Library's collection of Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps consists of paper maps, microfilm, and digital maps. Geographical coverage is listed below by media.

The years below are ranges for each entire state. Coverage for each individual city or town within a state may not include the entire range of years listed.
