Exhibits

The AGSL periodically displays materials from its holdings.  These exhibits usually follow some theme, and can include a variety of materials such as maps, charts, atlases, photographs, etc. They generally are on display within the AGSL on the third floor, East wing of the Golda Meir Library.

Current AGSL Exhibits

"Mapping Hispanic America: Materials on Latin America from the AGS Library "

This display is on view in the AGS Library through Aug. 29. The exhibit is in conjunction with the 2008 Holzheimer Lecture, "Ordering the South: The Mapping of Hispanic America by the American Geographical Society," which was presented by Alastair Pearson and Michael Heffernan in May.

The exhibit incorporates map sheets from the 1:1,000,000 scale map of Latin America produced by the AGS, as well as examples of other maps, atlases and books which were collected and used by the AGS in compiling this monumental work.

Academic Adventurers Exhibits

Shortly before Academic Adventurers lectures and for about a week following the lecture, there is a corresponding exhibit.  These exhibits contain a variety of materials related to the theme of the Academic Adventurer lecture.
