Student Wireless Laptop Program

40 wireless laptop computers are available for checkout by current UWM students with active UWM IDs. Laptops are available from the Multimedia Library, located on the first floor, east Wing. For more information, see the UWM Libraries Wireless Laptop Program page.

UWM Authors Recognition Ceremony on Friday

This year's UWM Authors Recognition Ceremony--honoring faculty and staff who have published books or recordings since the last ceremony in 2004--will be held on Friday, November 17, 2006 at 3:30 pm in the Golda Meir Library's fourth floor Conference Center.

PantherCat Unavailable Early Tuesday Morning

PantherCat has a scheduled maintenance window from 3:00am – 6:00am CST. Tuesday November 14, 2006. During these hours PantherCat will be unavailable. At this time a new system patch will be installed to improve performance of the Library Automation System. We are aware this service highly utilized and have scheduled this down time to have the least impact on normal hours of use. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Judith Harway in Words & Days

WORDS & DAYS: Poetry in the 50th Year of UWM, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, continues this Wednesday, November 8, at Noon-12:30 pm. The Gathering Place @ your library (the UWM Libraries coffee shop, East Wing, first floor) will host a reading by MIAD Liberal Studies faculty member and former UWM lecturer Judith Harway.

Remember To Vote!

Election Day is Tuesday, November 7. The Milwaukee Election Commission has sample ballots and a list of voting locations. Wisconsin offers voter registration at a polling places on election day. Results will be available via CNN and The New York Times.
