Virtual Tour Now Available

A Virtual Tour of the UWM Libraries is now available. Learn about the many collections and service points available at the Gold Meir Library. The virtual tour is part of the online tutorial, Searchpath.

October Tours and Walk-in Sessions

The Library Tours and Workshops page has been updated to list the library tours and hands-on workshops happening in October. Several new and popular sessions are featured. All workshops are free and open to everyone; no registration or sign-up is required.

Chancellor to speak at AGSL Friday

The ninth season of "UWM's Academic Adventurers" lecture series will commence on Friday, September 30 at 3:00 pm, when UWM Chancellor Carlos Santiago will give the first lecture of the academic year. Chancellor Santiago's talk, titled "Economic Development and the Indigenous Question in Latin America -- A Romp through the Western Amazon," will take place in the American Geographical Society Library, located on the 3rd floor, east wing of the Gold Meir Library, 2311 E. Hartford Ave, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Check Out a Banned Book!

Celebrate your freedom to read during Banned Books Week, Sept. 24 – Oct. 1, by checking out a book from the UWM Libraries. A list of recently challenged books is available from the Curriculum Library, and exhibits highlighting censorship attempts and issues can be found on the first floor of the east wing, and in the Curriculum and Music Libraries.

International Financial Statistics database now available online

The International Financial Statistics (IFS) database is now available via the UWM Libraries website. With this upgrade from the CD-ROM format, it is no longer necessary to visit the library to use IFS. More information about this resource is available on the New Resources page.

Computers in the Library

Internet-ready computers are available to the general public in west wing of the library. Those with an ePanther account can use the campus computer lab on the second floor, east wing. Computers in the lab include productivity software such as Microsoft Office. Additionally, there are outlets and Ethernet jacks for laptop computers in the lower level hallway, and wireless access available in most areas of the building, via ProwlNet.

UW Stout is now working with UW System Borrowing. UW Stout is once again available on our UW System search page. thanks for your patience during this interruption of service.

UW Stout is having problems with UW System Borrowing. UW Stout has been removed from the list of searchable catalogs on our UW System search page. We hope to have this issue resolved soon.
