Below are some hints for finding media materials in the online catalog.
It is useful to begin searching for subjects by using the keyword search.
VIDEOTAPES: 1) Click on the search type Keyword (and/or/not) in the Search by box. 2) Enter the keyword or words and the search qualifier and videorecording. Ex. history and videorecording teaching and elementary and videorecording "stanford prison experiment" and videorecording DVD: 1) Click on the search type Keyword (and/or/not) in the Search by box. 2) Enter the keyword or words and the search qualifier and dvd. Ex. history and dvd feature and films and dvd "capital of baseball" and dvd AUDIOBOOKS: 1) Click on the search type Keyword (and/or/not) in the Search by box. 2) Enter the keyword or words and the search qualifier and audiobooks. WHO MAY USE THESE TITLES
1/2 VHS, DVD and audiobook titles are available for checkout by UWM Faculty, Staff, Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants and Graduate Students for up to seven days with their valid UWM ID. UWM Undergraduate Students can check out titles, except for titles that have been placed on Reserve, for up to three days with their valid UWM ID. Non-UWM patrons must be current Friends of the Golda Meir Library members and may view titles in the UWM Libraries' Multimedia Viewing Room (E157) with their valid Friends ID card.
Many CD-ROM titles in the collection are available for checkout by the UWM campus community with proper identification.
HOW TO ORDER THESE TITLESAll titles are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
UWM faculty, staff, teaching assistants, research assistants, graduate and undergraduate students may reserve titles in advance of a showdate by completing the Online Multimedia Library order form or you may call the Multimedia Library at (414) 229-4673 and place your order by phone. Titles can also be reserved by submitting requests in writing using the blue media order form available at the Multimedia Library's E154 Service Counter. When a completed order is received and processed, our office will send a written confirmation to your departmental office.
Non-UWM community members must be current Friends of the Golda Meir Library and may view titles in the UWM Libraries' Multimedia Viewing Room (E157) with their valid Friends ID card.
WHERE TO GET THESE TITLES
Titles can be picked up at the Library E154 service counter during the Multimedia Library's normal business hours by presenting your valid UWM ID.
Titles needed for pickup or use outside of the Multimedia Library's normal business hours need to be requested in advance from the Multimedia Library. Titles will be placed at the Reserve desk for pickup.
LOAN PERIOD
UWM faculty, staff, teaching assistants, research assistants and graduate students may check out videotape, DVD and audiobook titles for up to seven days depending on availability. If a longer period of time is needed, please contact our office. UWM undergraduate students may check out titles, except for titles that have been placed on Reserve, for up to three days with their valid UWM ID.

RENEWING TITLES
1/2 VHS, DVD and audiobook titles cannot be renewed online because they are scheduled throughout the semester.
To renew 1/2 VHS, DVD and audiobook titles, please call our office at (414) 229-4673 or email us at libmedia@uwm.edu.
Please leave a detailed message if you get our voicemail and we will return your call and verify the renewal. Titles can also be extended in person at the Multimedia Library Office during business hours.CD-ROM titles can be renewed online.
RESTRICTIONS
No UWM Multimedia Library Collection title may be loaned to any group, organization, or individual other than the authorized borrower. There can be no admission charge collected. These titles may not be duplicated, reproduced, digitized, transferred to any other kind of medium, televised, transmitted or altered in any way in whole or in part WITHOUT the written permission of the copyright holder in advance.
AGREEMENT
Placement of an order for service or check out of a title constitutes an agreement that the borrower accepts the terms as set forth in these policies.
