Mourned: Filmmaker Ingmar Bergman

The death of filmmaker Ingmar Bergman on Monday, July 30 was another great loss to the film community. One of the masters of modern cinema. this Swedish film director's talents are reflected in his 62 films. His artistry was in exploring the human condition - culling out the despair, the infallibility, the humor and the hope in bleak settings. Ingmar Bergman was also a phenomenal stage director and is widely quoted as saying "theatre is my wife, film is my mistress."
His many films include: Seventh Seal, Cries and Whispers, Wild Strawberries, Winter Light, Through a Glass Darkly and Fanny and Alexander.

Mourned: Italian Filmmaker Michelangelo Antonioni
