HISTORY - AMERICAN
E 1000
"History - American" is the general category name for most theses and dissertations done at UWM from this specialty (United States history) within the History Department; for others and non-U.S. related theses/dissertations, see the "History" list. The base call number for all titles in this list is E 1000. This list is current as of 21 September 2007. More current titles may be searched in the Library Catalog, by a known author or title, or the base call number. The list is in call number order, which approximates an alphabetical list by author's last name. Doctoral dissertations are indicated by a (Ph.D.) at the end; all others are master's theses unless specified. All items are from the department "History" unless noted in the entry; other specialties are as given in the thesis. For other "History" theses and dissertations, check the list for non-U.S. History, D 9999.
UWM owned theses and dissertations located in the general collection can be checked out with a valid UWM ID card, or borrowed through standard interlibrary loan channels. UWM faculty, students, and staff have access to online full text of doctoral dissertations (1997-current) available from University Microfilms. To access these dissertations, click on Dissertation Abstracts under "Databases A-Z" from the UWM Libraries home page, then click on "customized interface" to be directed to the search page for Current Research @ University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, or check the entry in the UWM Libraries catalog.
