HISTORY
D 9999
"History" is the general category name for theses and dissertations done at UWM from the History Department, excluding United States history, which may be found in a separate list. The base call number for all titles in this list is D 9999. This list is current as of 27 January 2008. More current titles may be searched in PantherCat, by a known author or title, or the base call number. The list is in call number order, which approximates an alphabetical list by author's last name. Doctoral dissertations are indicated by a (Ph.D.) at the end; all others are master's theses unless specified. All items are from the "History" department unless noted in the entry; other specialties are as given in the thesis. See the History - American, E 1000" list for related subject material.
UWM owned theses and dissertations located in the general collection can be checked out with a valid UWM ID card, or borrowed through standard interlibrary loan channels. UWM faculty, students, and staff have access to online full text of doctoral dissertations (1997-current) available from University Microfilms. To access these dissertations, click on Dissertation Abstracts under "Databases A-Z" from the UWM Libraries home page, then click on "customized interface" to be directed to the search page for Current Research @ University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, or check the entry in the UWM Libraries catalog.
