This guide lists sources of industry information available at the UWM Libraries. For sources of information on specific companies, see the guide titled "LOCATING COMPANY INFORMATION".

BOOKS: To find books on a particular industry, look in PantherCat, the online catalog; consult the Library of Congress Subject Headings [(REF) Z 695 .L6952x] to find the correct subject heading for the industry; for example "chain restaurants" or "banks and banking."

GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS:     The U.S. government is a major publisher of information on industries; this data, however, will likely not include names of specific companies. Resources may be available print or electronic; check the catalog for holdings and format information. A good source is the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, at http://www.bls.gov/. An electronic index of government publications is available through the Library home page. The most useful sources are:
