Historical Abstracts is an annotated index to scholarly material on the history of the world, excluding United States and Canada, from 1450 to the present. Coverage includes citations from journals published worldwide since 1955, as well as book/media reviews and dissertations. While the focus is on non-United States, there may be resources for United States relationships with other countries; other materials may also cover earlier eras of history. Full-text of some articles is available online. The companion index, America, History and Life, covering articles published since 1964, will cover research for the United States and Canada; although these areas may be covered in articles on topics relating other countries to those areas.
