AVERY INDEX TO ARCHITECTURAL PERIODICALS

The Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals covers over 2,800 international journals on architecture, city planning, interior design, historic preservation, archaeology, and related topics. Most journal coverage reaches back to the 1930's, with more selective coverage back to the 1860's, and limited coverage back to the late 1700's. The index is compiled and made available from the Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library, Columbia University. A related index is the online Art Full Text, with coverage from 1984, and it's print companion, Art Index, with coverage for 1929-1994/95. Art Index/Art Abstracts also covers major architecture and interior design journals with others in the art field. Another index is the Bibliography of the History and Art, with earlier titles, covering art, art history, interior design, and archaeology. Other indexes covering a broader spectrum of related areas are listed at the end.
