From 1931 to 1947 Nathan Sand held the position of secretary in the Milwaukee
division of the American Jewish Congress. Jewish Americans developed this
organization in 1918 with the purpose of "securing and maintaining equality
and opportunity for Jews everywhere, and to safeguard the civil, political,
economic, and religious rights of Jews everywhere." This newsletter,
circa 1941, describes the group's efforts to bring about equality for Jewish
Americans during World War II.
