Subject Listing: World War I |

Throughout World War I former Milwaukee Mayor, Emil Seidel was strongly opposed
to the United States' participation in the hostilities. In addition to writing
anti-war speeches, Mayor Seidel attended several functions that were focused on
ending the war and preventing such an occurrence from taking place in the future.
One such event was the National Congress for a League of Nations, advertised in
the above brochure from 1919. The event brought together several eminent speakers, including former United States
President, William Howard Taft, to discuss the various programs involved in the peace process.
