The above photograph, dated November 4, 1917, depicts several staff members, including Leon Gurda seated second from right, of Company K of the 127th Infantry National Guard stationed at Camp MacArthur in Waco, Texas. A note on the back of the image states that the men are "in training for war with Germany."
