Among the postcards in the Albert J. Smith Family Collection is this image of the original conservatory at Mitchell Park. Built in 1898, the conservatory displayed flowers to the public in a greenhouse setting. In 1955, the building was deemed unsafe and later replaced with "The Domes," a three part structure exhibiting examples of tropical and arid plants, as well as floral gardens.
